Bach's Trio Sonatas pose a great challenge to the performer in as much as are comprised of three independent melodic lines. Left hand, right hand & feet.
I first heard the Trio Sonatas 20 years ago & never tire of them as they are so rich in melody & counterpoint.
Having hard about 10 different recordings this is my favourite. The tempo always seem right. The organ sound is not too large & reverberant, so none of the complexity becomes muddled. This recording was made at the start of the digital era & is of excellent quality. Holm Vogel being the organist at Leipzig would have to be special. Highly recommended.
